Atlanta aiport

Travel

With one of the world’s busiest airports, a great highway system and a variety of public transportation options, getting around Atlanta is easy.

Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport is located just south of Atlanta in College Park. It was the world’s busiest airport by passenger traffic as well as landings and take-offs in 2007 and 2006. Both Delta and AirTran operate their largest hub at the airport. The airport serves 240 flights per hour.

Don't forget to make your travel reservations at www.us.mensa.org/travel! You can get the best deals and still use your frequent-flyer number as well as the following Mensa discount numbers:

Airport transportation/shuttles
Taxis, limos and shuttles all provide service to and from the airport. The estimated taxi fee is $50 one way. Hartsfield-Jackson also has its own train station on the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit System, MARTA. The above-ground station is inside in the main building, between the north and south terminals on the west end; take it to the Dunwoody station, which is an estimated one-tenth of a mile from the hotel. Complimentary shuttle service is available. The estimated subway fee is $2.25.

Interstate highways
Atlanta is a crossroads for many interstate highways in the southern United States. Interstate 75 (north to Canada/south to Miami), Interstate 20 (east to Florence, S.C./west to Kent, Texas) and Interstate 85 (east to Petersburg, Va./west to Montgomery, Ala.) all provide convenient access to Atlanta.

MARTA station

Public Transportation
Atlanta's mass transit system, MARTA, provides bus and rail service in and around Atlanta for a reasonable fare. MARTA's A to Z Route connects visitors with the Georgia Aquarium and Zoo Atlanta. The Peach, or MARTA Route 110, travels from Lenox Square to the Georgia State Capitol with stops at popular locations. Most single one-way fares are $1.75.

MARTA also provides airport transportation. Take the bus, subway or train to the Dunwoody stations; the bus station is one-third of a mile from the hotel, whereas the subway and train stations are only one-tenth of a mile from the hotel. All three offer complimentary shuttle service.
